Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 55 — Sañjaya’s Report on Pāṇḍava Readiness and Arjuna’s Dhvaja
The verse highlights how confidence in a righteous cause is reinforced by perceived auspicious signs (pūrvarūpa). It also stresses the role of a truthful witness (Sanjaya) who reports and concurs with what he has directly heard and understood, rather than exaggerating.
Arjuna (called Bibhatsu) tells Sanjaya to observe an evident fore-sign of victory and declares that ‘we shall win.’ Sanjaya then reports to the king that he too understands the situation exactly as Arjuna stated.
