भीष्मप्रतापात् कुरवो नयेनान्धकवृष्णय: । यज्ञ तस्य वशे जग्मु: केवलं दैवमेव तत्,भीष्मजीके प्रतापसे कुरुवंशी और नीतिबलसे अंधक-वृष्णिवंशके लोग जो जरासंधके वशमें नहीं पड़े, वह केवल दैवयोग था
bhīṣma-pratāpāt kuravo nayenāndhaka-vṛṣṇayaḥ | yajas tasya vaśe jagmuḥ kevalaṃ daivam eva tat ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra disse: “Pela proeza de Bhīṣma e pela arte de governar dos Kurus, os Andhakas e os Vṛṣṇis não vieram a cair sob seu domínio; tal desfecho deveu-se unicamente ao destino.”
