Sañjaya’s Report
असम्प्राप्तानस्त्रपथं परस्य तदा द्रष्टा नश्यतो धार्तराष्ट्रानू । अकुर्वत: कर्म युद्धे समन््तात् तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्,“दुर्योधनको जब यह दिखायी देगा कि उसके दूसरे भाई शत्रुओंकी बाण-वर्षके निकट न जाकर उसे दूरसे देखकर ही अदृश्य हो रहे हैं, युद्धमें कोई पराक्रम नहीं कर पा रहे हैं, तब वह लड़ाई छेड़नेके कारण मन-ही-मन बहुत पछतायेगा
asamprāptān astrapathaṁ parasya tadā draṣṭā naśyato dhārtarāṣṭrān | akurvataḥ karma yuddhe samantāt tadā yuddhaṁ dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvatāpsyat ||
Sañjaya disse: “Então Duryodhana, filho de Dhṛtarāṣṭra, verá os seus desaparecerem—incapazes de chegar ao alcance das armas do inimigo e sem realizar qualquer feito de valor em parte alguma do campo de batalha. Ao ver esse colapso de esforço e coragem, arderá por dentro de pesar por ter posto esta guerra em movimento.”
