Sanatsujāta–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Saṃvāda: Pramāda as Mṛtyu
Chapter 42
सत्यात् प्रच्यवमानानां संकल्पश्च तथा भवेत् | ततो यज्ञ: प्रतायेत सत्यस्यैवावधारणात्,वास्तवमें जो सत्यस्वरूप परमात्मासे च्युत हो गये हैं, उन्हींका वैसा संकल्प होता है। फिर सत्यरूप वेदके प्रामाण्यका निश्चय करके ही उनके द्वारा यज्ञोंका विस्तार (अनुष्ठान) किया जाता है
satyāt pracyavamānānāṃ saṅkalpaś ca tathā bhavet | tato yajñaḥ pratāyeta satyasyaivāvadhāraṇāt ||
Aqueles que se afastaram da Verdade formam intenções do mesmo teor decaído. Depois, somente ao firmar com certeza a autoridade da Verdade—encarnada no Veda—é que passam a ampliar e realizar os ritos sacrificiais. O ensinamento é que o ritual só ganha legitimidade e força moral quando enraizado numa veracidade inabalável, e não no desejo ou no desvio do Real.
सनत्युजात उवाच
Intention (saṅkalpa) mirrors one’s alignment with Truth: when people deviate from satya, their resolves become distorted; and even ritual action becomes valid and fruitful only when grounded in a firm commitment to Truth and the Veda’s truthful authority.
Sanatsujāta continues instructing on dharma and inner discipline, explaining that sacrificial practice is not self-justifying: it must rest on truthful conviction. He links ethical integrity (satya) to the legitimacy and expansion of yajña.
