Sañjaya’s Envoy-Speech on Peace
नाश्रेयान् वै प्रावारान् संविवस्ते कथं त्वस्मान् सम्प्रणुदेत् कुरुभ्य: । अन्रैव स्यादबुधस्यैव काम: प्राय: शरीरे हृदयं दुनोति
sañjaya uvāca |
nāśreyān vai prāvārān saṃvivaste kathaṃ tv asmān sampranudet kurubhyaḥ |
anṛ eva syād abudhasyaiva kāmaḥ prāyaḥ śarīre hṛdayaṃ dunoti ||
Sañjaya disse: “Sem mérito, alguém nem sequer veste mantos finos; como, então, poderia expulsar-nos da terra dos Kurus? De fato, o desejo pertence apenas ao insensato; comumente ele atormenta o coração dentro do corpo.”
