Drupada’s Alarm and Inquiry Regarding Śikhaṇḍinī (द्रुपदस्य भय-विमर्शः)
महाराज! इसी कारणसे स्थूणाकर्ण आज आपके सामने नहीं उपस्थित हो रहे हैं। यह सुनकर आप जैसा उचित समझें, करें। आज आपका विमान यहीं रहना चाहिये ।।
ānīyatāṃ sthūṇa iti tato yakṣādhipo 'bravīt | kartāsmi nigrahaṃ tasya pratyuvāca punaḥ punaḥ ||
Ó grande rei! Por essa razão Sthūṇākarṇa não comparece hoje diante de vós. Tendo ouvido isto, fazei o que julgardes apropriado. Hoje, o vosso vimāna deve permanecer aqui. Então o senhor dos Yakṣas disse: «Trazei Sthūṇa (Sthūṇākarṇa) até aqui». E repetidas vezes declarou: «Eu o refrearei e o punirei».
भीष्म उवाच
Authority must uphold order: when someone evades rightful summons, the ruler (or guardian of a community) is obliged to apply appropriate restraint (nigraha) to protect dharma, doing so in a measured and proper manner.
The Yakṣa-lord orders that Sthūṇa/Sthūṇākarṇa be brought before him and repeatedly asserts that he will punish or restrain him, indicating the seriousness of the offense and the intent to enforce compliance.
