Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)
पुत्रस्नेहान्महाबाहु: सुखं पर्यचरत् तदा । सर्वनिभिप्रायकृतान् भार्यालभत कौरव
putrasnehān mahābāhuḥ sukhaṃ paryacarat tadā | sarvanibhīprāyakṛtān bhāryālabhata kaurava ||
Disse Bhishma: “Movido pelo afeto ao filho que estava para nascer, o príncipe de braços poderosos viveu então em conforto e tratou sua amada rainha com grande alegria. Ó descendente da linhagem dos Kuru, ele a honrou e assegurou que tudo o que ela desejasse lhe fosse prontamente posto diante dos olhos.”
भीष्म उवाच
A ruler’s dharma includes attentive care and honor toward his wife, especially during pregnancy; affection should express itself as responsible provision, respect, and protection rather than mere sentiment.
Bhishma describes a Kuru prince who, out of love for the child to be born, keeps his queen happy, treats her with honor, and arranges that all her desired comforts and necessities are provided.
