Bhīṣma’s Dream-Counsel and the Prasvāpa Astra (भीष्मस्वप्नदर्शनम् / प्रस्वापास्त्रोपदेशः)

Bhishma declarou: “De modo algum me retirarei desta guerra.
The verse highlights steadfastness to one’s chosen duty (kṣatriya-dharma) and the ethical weight of vows: Bhishma treats withdrawal as a breach of lifelong martial commitment unless he is formally released by rightful authority.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, Bhishma speaks to affirm that he will not personally step back from the coming conflict; if others want him removed from combat, they must explicitly relieve him rather than expect voluntary retreat.
