स्वेन सैन्येन महता प्रतपन्‌ शत्रुवाहिनीम्‌ । प्रधक्ष्यति स पञज्चालान्‌ कक्षमग्निगतिर्यथा,राजा पौरव अपनी विशाल सेनाके द्वारा शत्रुवाहिनीको संतप्त करते हुए पांचालोंको उसी प्रकार भस्म कर डालेंगे, जैसे आग घास-फूसको

svena sainyena mahatā pratapan śatruvāhinīm | pradhakṣyati sa pañcālān kakṣam agnigatir yathā ||

Bhīṣma disse: “Com seu vasto exército, abrasando o hoste inimigo, esse rei dos Pauravas queimará os Pañcālas até virarem cinzas—como o fogo que consome a mata seca.”
