Pāṇḍava-senā-niryāṇa and Vyūha-vibhāga (पाण्डवसेनानिर्याण तथा व्यूहविभाग)
यश्नेह प्रतिसंरब्ध: क्षत्रियो माभियास्यति । अपि भीष्म पुरस्कृत्य तं॑ नेष्यामि यमक्षयम्
yaśneha pratisaṃrabdhaḥ kṣatriyo mām abhiyāsyati | api bhīṣma-puraskṛtya taṃ neṣyāmi yamākṣayam ||
Sañjaya disse: “Aqui, quem quer que seja—qualquer kṣatriya—que se lance contra mim em fúria, mesmo pondo Bhīṣma à frente, eu o enviarei de imediato ao reino imperecível de Yama.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethos of uncompromising readiness to meet aggression with force. Ethically, it frames anger-driven assault as inviting immediate fatal consequence, underscoring responsibility for one’s violent intent and the gravity of initiating attack.
Sañjaya reports a warrior’s fierce declaration: if any kṣatriya charges at him in rage—even under Bhīṣma’s leadership—he will kill that attacker, sending him to Yama’s realm. The statement intensifies the atmosphere of impending conflict in the Udyoga Parva.
