«Ó de braços poderosos, não tenho medo, nem preciso de auxílio. Como desejares e como julgares adequado, vai para outro lugar—ou permanece aqui.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Fearlessness grounded in self-possession: one should not act from fear or dependency, and should maintain dignity while allowing others the freedom to choose their course.
In the midst of tense exchanges characteristic of the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and confrontations, a speaker addresses a powerful figure (‘mahābāhu’) and declares he is neither afraid nor in need of allies, telling him he may go elsewhere or stay—whichever he considers proper.
