फल्गु यच्च बल॑ किंचिद् यच्चापि कृशदुर्बलम् । तत् संगृह ययौ राजा ये चापि परिचारका:,राजा युधिष्ठिरने जो कोई भी सेना सारहीन, कृशकाय अथवा दुर्बल थी, सबको एवं अन्य परिचारकोंको उपप्लव्यमें एकत्र करके वहाँसे प्रस्थान कर दिया
phalgu yac ca balaṁ kiñcid yac cāpi kṛśa-durbalam | tat saṅgṛhya yayau rājā ye cāpi paricārakāḥ ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: O rei reuniu quaisquer tropas de pouca força, bem como os magros e débeis, e também os servidores; tendo-os ajuntado, partiu para Upaplavya. O trecho ressalta a liderança prudente: mesmo os marginais e vulneráveis não são descartados, mas organizados e levados no movimento coletivo rumo à segurança e ao dever.
