यादवानां कुलकरो बलवान्‌ वीर्यसम्मत: । अवमेने स तु क्षत्रं दर्पपूर्ण: सुमन्दधी:,“वे बलवान, उत्तम पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न एवं यादवोंके वंशप्रवर्तक हुए थे। उनकी बुद्धि बड़ी मन्द थी और उन्होंने घमंडमें आकर समस्त क्षत्रियोंका अपमान किया था

yādavānāṃ kulakaro balavān vīryasammataḥ | avamene sa tu kṣatraṃ darpapūrṇaḥ sumandadhīḥ ||

Vāyu disse: “Ele foi o fundador da linhagem dos Yādava, dotado de grande força e reconhecido por seu valor. Contudo, de entendimento obtuso e inchado de orgulho, chegou a insultar toda a ordem dos kṣatriyas.”
