Krishna’s appraisal of Pandava advantage and war portents
उदगातात्र पुनर्भीम: प्रस्तोता सुमहाबल: । विनदन् स नरव्याप्रो नागानीकान्तकूद् रणे
udagātātra punar bhīmaḥ prastotā sumahābalaḥ | vinadan sa naravyāghro nāgānīkāntakūd raṇe ||
Então, naquela ocasião, Bhīma ergueu-se de novo como o condutor do canto de guerra—de força incomensurável. Rugindo em voz alta, esse tigre entre os homens avançou na batalha, destruidor de corpos de elefantes, encarnando a feroz determinação que leva os guerreiros a enfrentar uma força esmagadora sem ceder.
कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya resolve: a warrior must step forward decisively, using disciplined ferocity and courage to meet formidable forces (symbolized by elephant-corps), without wavering from duty in the face of danger.
Karna describes Bhīma once again surging to the forefront, loudly roaring and taking up the role of initiating the martial chant/cry, as he advances in battle with the reputation of being a destroyer of elephant formations.
