अलातं तिन्दुकस्येव मुहूर्तमपि विज्वल । मा तुषाग्निरिवानर्चिर्धूमायस्व जिजीविषु:

Transliteration

alātaṁ tindukasyeva muhūrtam api vijvala | mā tuṣāgnir ivānarcir dhūmāy asva jijīviṣuḥ ||

Translation

Vāyu disse: “Incendeia-te, ainda que por um instante, como um tição de madeira de tinduka—mostra valor decisivo diante do inimigo. Mas não te tornes, por desejo de preservar a vida, como o fogo de palha sem chama que apenas fuma; não te contentes com esforço tímido e ineficaz.”
