वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when one is drawn toward a harmful decision, association with the wise, courageous, disciplined, and learned can rescue a person from adharma and from actions that lead to lasting disgrace.
Vaiśampāyana, narrating the events, states that the addressed person will be turned back from an unrighteous, shameful course through the influence of capable advisers—those marked by wisdom, valor, energy, self-mastery, and learning.
