ययातिपतन-कारणम् (The Cause of Yayāti’s Fall) — Nārada’s Counsel on Pride and Reconciliation
यत् फलं दानशीलस्य क्षमाशीलस्य यत् फलम् | यच्च मे फलमाधाने तेन संयुज्यतां भवान्,“दानशील पुरुषको जो पुण्यफल प्राप्त होता है, क्षमाशील मनुष्यको जो फल मिलता है तथा अग्निस्थापन आदि वेदोक्त कर्मोंके अनुष्ठानसे मुझे जिस फलकी प्राप्ति होनेवाली है, उन सभी प्रकारके पुण्यफलोंसे आप सम्पन्न हों!
yat phalaṁ dānaśīlasya kṣamāśīlasya yat phalam | yac ca me phalam ādhāne tena saṁyujyatāṁ bhavān ||
Disse Nārada: “Que sejas dotado do mérito que cabe ao devotado à dádiva, do mérito ganho pelo devotado ao perdão, e de todo o mérito que me está destinado pela execução de ritos védicos, como o estabelecimento do fogo sagrado. Que todas essas formas de recompensa santa se unam em ti.”
