Etymology of Wealth and the Gurudakṣiṇā Predicament of Gālava

The passage highlights gṛhastha-dharma and tapas: food offered after bali and vaiśvadeva, sanctified by mantra, becomes an ethically charged act of hospitality. Accepting such hospitality brings calm and vulnerability, reminding that strength is not only physical—ritual order, restraint, and dharmic conduct also govern outcomes.
After being welcomed, Garuḍa and Gālava are served consecrated cooked food by an ascetic woman. They eat, feel fully satisfied, lie down on the ground, and then fall into a deep sleep that renders them unconscious.
