Nahuṣa Abhiṣeka and the Crisis of Restraint (नहुषाभिषेकः—दमभ्रंशः)
तस्मादेतद् भवेत् सत्य त्वयोक्त द्विजसत्तम । 'भगवन्! आपने पहले जो वैसी बातें कही हैं
tasmād etad bhavet satyaṃ tvayokta dvijasattama |
Portanto, ó melhor dos brâmanes, que se torne verdadeiro aquilo que disseste. Ó venerável! Antes proferiste tais palavras—agora faze com que essas palavras se confirmem nos atos. De tua boca jamais saiu sentença vã ou falsa; por isso, também esta tua declaração anterior deve cumprir-se como verdade.
शल्य उवाच
Speech must align with truth not only as factual correctness but as moral reliability: a respected person’s words should be made true through consistent action, preserving trust and dharma.
Shalya addresses a revered Brahmin figure, urging him to ensure that his earlier statement is not left empty—because such a person is known never to speak falsely, his prior words should be fulfilled as truth.
