अविलम्बमनायस्तमद्रुतं धीरमूर्जितम् । असंसक्ताक्षरपदं स्वरभावसमन्वितम्
avilambam anāyastam adrutaṃ dhīram ūrjitam | asaṃsaktākṣarapadaṃ svarabhāvasamanvitam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: “A recitação não deve ser arrastada nem forçada, e tampouco apressada. Deve seguir com firme serenidade e vigor, articulando com clareza sílabas e palavras sem as emaranhar, e alinhando a voz ao sentimento. Assim o narrador transmite o sentido com doçura e torna a história inteligível e eficaz.”
