Duryodhana Seen in Heaven
Triviṣṭapa
The verse frames posthumous attainment as linked to svadharma: a kṣatriya who stands firm and fearless amid great danger, fulfilling the warrior’s duty, is said to gain an exalted ‘station’ (sthāna).
In Svargārohaṇa, Vaiśaṃpāyana explains why a particular king (understood in context as Duryodhana) has obtained a high realm/state: he faced tremendous peril without fear and thus, by kṣatriya-dharma, attained that destination.
