Strī Parva 1: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament and Saṃjaya’s Consolation
Portanto, abandona o teu luto.”
Grief should be restrained through remembered wisdom: the established teachings of the Vedas and śāstras, as transmitted by elders and sages, are presented as a remedy for overwhelming sorrow.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reminds the listener-king that earlier sages once consoled King Sṛñjaya when he mourned his son; invoking that precedent, he urges the present king to give up lamentation.
