Varṇāśrama-ācāra and Vikarma: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry on Safe Dharmas (शिवधर्मप्रश्नः)

तस्य देहपरित्यागादिष्टा: कामाक्षया मता: । आनन्त्यायोपतिष्ठ न्ति सर्वतो$क्षिशिरोमुखा:,उस गृहस्थको देह-त्यागके पश्चात्‌ उसके अभीष्ट मनोरथ अक्षयरूपसे प्राप्त होते हैं। वे उस पुरुषका संकल्प जानकर इस प्रकार अनन्तकालतकके लिये उसकी सेवामें उपस्थित हो जाते हैं, मानो उनके नेत्र, मस्तक और मुख सभी दिशाओंकी ओर हों

tasya deha-parityāgād iṣṭāḥ kāmākṣayā matāḥ | ānantyāyopatiṣṭhanti sarvato 'kṣi-śiro-mukhāḥ ||

Disse Bhīṣma: Depois que esse chefe de família abandona o corpo, os fins queridos que ele julgou “imperecíveis” são alcançados sem diminuição. Conhecendo a intenção desse homem, esses resultados desejados permanecem prontos a servi-lo por tempo sem fim, como se seus olhos, suas cabeças e seus rostos estivessem voltados para todas as direções.
