Śara-śayyā-sthita-bhīṣma-saṃvāda-prastāvaḥ
The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
एतस्मात् कारणाद भीष्म मतिर्दिव्या मया हि ते । दत्ता यशो विप्रथयेत् कथं भूयस्तवेति ह,भीष्म! इसीलिये मैंने आपको दिव्य बुद्धि प्रदान की है कि जिस किसी प्रकारसे भी आपके महान् यशका इस भूतलपर विस्तार हो
etasmāt kāraṇād bhīṣma matir divyā mayā hi te | dattā yaśo viprathayet kathaṁ bhūyas taveti ha ||
Disse Vāyu: “Por esta mesma razão, ó Bhīṣma, eu de fato te concedi uma inteligência divina—para que a tua grande fama se espalhe amplamente pela terra de todas as maneiras possíveis, e ainda mais se acrescente.”
