Rāma–Jāmadagnya-janma-kāraṇa and Kṣatra-kṣaya

Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the ethical weight of continuity: those who uphold order and right conduct become the ones whose families and dynasties remain stable and flourishing, and the tradition preserves their story as an instructive ‘ancient account’ (purāvṛtta).

Vāyudeva concludes a traditional story he has been recounting to the Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira), affirming that the outcome was the flourishing of descendants in established lineages, and that the account is exactly as the listener had asked.
