अध्वक्लान्तस्य शयनं स्थानक्लान्तस्थ चासनम्‌ | तृषितस्य च पानीयं क्षुधार्तस्थ च भोजनम्‌,राह चलनेसे थके हुए बटोहीको शय्या, खड़े-खड़े जिसके पैर दुख रहे हों, उसके लिये बैठनेका आसन, प्यासेको पानी और भूखसे पीड़ित मनुष्यको भोजन मिलनेसे जितना संतोष होता है, उतनी ही प्रसन्नता मुझे आपकी यह बात सुनकर हुई है

adhvaklāntasya śayanaṁ sthānaklāntasya cāsanam | tṛṣitasya ca pānīyaṁ kṣudhārtasya ca bhojanam ||

Disse o brâmane: “Assim como um leito alivia o viajante exausto da estrada, como um assento conforta aquele cujos pés doem de tanto ficar em pé, como a água sacia o sedento e como o alimento alegra o homem atormentado pela fome—assim se alegrou o meu coração ao ouvir as tuas palavras.”
