Āścarya-kathana: Brāhmaṇa–Nāga Dialogue on Sūrya (Vivasvat) and the ‘Second Sun’ Phenomenon
The verse emphasizes the supreme authority and reliability of the dharma being taught: it is not merely human speculation but a doctrine received by Nārada directly from Nārāyaṇa, complete with both its deeper (rahasya) meaning and its concise summary (saṅgraha).
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, explains to the addressed king that Nārada has obtained this dharma-teaching straight from the Lord of the universe, establishing the divine provenance of the instruction that follows or is being discussed.
