Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)
आभिराप्यायितबला लोकान् वै धारयिष्यथ । 'प्रवृत्तिफलसे समादृत होनेवाली जिन यज्ञ-क्रियाओंका जगतमें प्रचार होगा, उन्हींसे तुम्हारे बलकी वृद्धि होगी और बलिष्ठ होकर तुमलोग सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका भरण-पोषण करोगे
ābhir āpyāyita-balā lokān vai dhārayiṣyatha |
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Fortalecidos e nutridos por estes ritos, sustentareis de fato os mundos. Quando os atos sacrificiais—honrados pelos frutos que nascem do correto engajamento na vida mundana—se difundirem pelo mundo, aumentarão o vosso poder; e, tornando-vos fortes, amparareis e preservareis todos os seres.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
That properly honoured sacrificial and duty-based actions (yajña/pravṛtti) nourish strength and enable one to uphold society and the cosmic order; power is legitimized as service—sustaining the worlds rather than exploiting them.
Vaiśampāyana, in the didactic flow of Śānti Parva, states a principle of reciprocity: through the spread and observance of sanctioned rites and duties, the agents (implicitly rulers and householders) gain strength and thereby maintain the welfare of all beings.
