The verse underscores the legitimacy of an ancient sacred tradition by describing it as “veda-sammitam”—on par with, and consistent with, Vedic authority—thereby framing its transmission as dharmically authoritative.
Bhīṣma narrates that in Brahmā’s celestial assembly, hosts of Siddhas gathered, and Nārada recited to them an ancient Purāṇa regarded as Veda-equivalent, emphasizing a formal, exalted setting for the teaching’s dissemination.
