आलोकयजुत्तरपश्चिमेन ददर्श चाप्यद्धुतमुक्तरूपम् । मेरुके शिखरपर एकान्त स्थानमें जाकर नारद मुनिने दो घड़ीतक विश्राम किया। फिर वहाँसे उत्तर-पश्चिमकी ओर दृष्टिपात करनेपर उन्होंने पूर्व-वर्णित एक अद्भुत दृश्य देखा

Nārada disse: Lançando o olhar para o noroeste, contemplou uma visão maravilhosa, exatamente como fora descrita. Tendo ido a um lugar solitário no cume do monte Meru, o sábio repousou por um breve instante; depois, dali, ao olhar adiante, viu um prodígio extraordinário—como se o recolhimento disciplinado e a percepção atenta pudessem revelar verdades ocultas ao olhar comum.
