Aśvaśiras / Hayaśiras Narrative: Retrieval of the Vedas
The verse teaches the supremacy of the indwelling Self: no external deity or ancestral authority is higher than the ultimate principle that is to be known as one’s own Ātman. True worship is grounded in recognizing that highest reality within.
Nārada is instructing a twice-born listener in a peace-and-dharma discourse, redirecting reverence from external objects of worship (gods or ancestors) to the realization of the Self as the highest, and affirming worship of that supreme inner reality.
