(Nārāyaṇīyam Ākhyānam) — Nārada’s Return and Hymnic Consolidation
The line highlights how perceiving true greatness (mahimā) and boundless inner radiance (amita-tejas) naturally evokes respect and ethical reflection—suggesting that virtue and power, when rightly understood, should lead to humility and discernment rather than pride.
Bhīṣma is describing a moment of recognition: someone beholds the remarkable greatness of a son characterized by immeasurable splendor. The verse functions as a transitional observation, setting up the consequences or response that follows in the surrounding passage.
