शिष्याणां वचन श्रुत्वा पराशरसुतः प्रभु: । प्रत्युवाच ततो वाक्यं धर्मार्थसहितं हितम्,शिष्योंकी यह बात सुनकर पराशरनन्दन भगवान् व्यास यह धर्म और अर्थयुक्त हितकर वचन बोले
śiṣyāṇāṁ vacanaṁ śrutvā parāśarasutaḥ prabhuḥ | pratyuvāca tato vākyaṁ dharmārthasahitaṁ hitam ||
Ouvindo as palavras de seus discípulos, o venerável Vyāsa, filho de Parāśara, respondeu então com uma declaração benéfica—alicerçada no dharma e alinhada ao propósito justo—guiando-os para o que é verdadeiramente bom.
भीष्म उवाच
A teacher’s response should be hita (truly beneficial) and grounded in dharma (righteousness) while also aligned with artha (sound, practical purpose). Wisdom is not merely correct—it should guide conduct and welfare.
Bhīṣma narrates that after hearing his disciples’ words, Vyāsa (son of Parāśara) responds. The verse frames Vyāsa’s forthcoming counsel as ethically grounded and practically meaningful.
