Educational Q&A

A teacher’s response should be hita (truly beneficial) and grounded in dharma (righteousness) while also aligned with artha (sound, practical purpose). Wisdom is not merely correct—it should guide conduct and welfare.

Bhīṣma narrates that after hearing his disciples’ words, Vyāsa (son of Parāśara) responds. The verse frames Vyāsa’s forthcoming counsel as ethically grounded and practically meaningful.
