Janaka–Sulabhā Dialogue on Mokṣa and Non-attachment
नावेदनिष्ठस्थ जनस्य राजन् प्रदेयमेतत् परमं त्वया भवेत् | विधित्समानाय विबोधकारण प्रबोधहेतो: प्रणतस्य शासनम्,राजन! जो मनुष्य वेदमें श्रद्धा रखनेवाला न हो, उसे इस उत्तम ज्ञानका उपदेश तुम्हें नहीं करना चाहिये। जिसे बोधके लिये अधिक प्यास हो तथा जो जिज्ञासुभावसे शरणमें आया हो, वही इस उपदेशको सुननेका अधिकारी है
na veda-niṣṭhasya janasya rājan pradeyam etat paramaṃ tvayā bhavet | vidhitsamānāya vibodha-kāraṇa prabodha-hetoḥ praṇatasya śāsanam ||
Vasiṣṭha disse: “Ó Rei, não deves transmitir esta instrução suprema a alguém que não esteja firmemente alicerçado na reverência ao Veda. Este ensinamento deve ser dado àquele que busca o despertar, que anseia por compreensão e que se aproximou com sincera humildade para ser iluminado.”
