Measures of Time from the Unmanifest; Creation, Elements, and the Primacy of Mind
हंस उवाच इदं कार्यममृताशा: शृणोमि तपो दम: सत्यमात्माभिगुप्ति: । ग्रन्थीन् विमुच्य हृदयस्य सर्वान् प्रियाप्रिये स्वं वशमानयीत
haṃsa uvāca | idaṃ kāryam amṛtāśāḥ śṛṇomi tapo damaḥ satyam ātmābhiguptiḥ | granthīn vimucya hṛdayasya sarvān priyāpriye svaṃ vaśam ānayet |
O Haṃsa disse: “Ó vós que buscais o imortal, ouvi dizer que estas são as disciplinas mais elevadas: o esforço ascético, o domínio dos sentidos, a veracidade e a vigilante guarda de si. Tendo desatado todos os nós do coração, deve-se trazer sob controle tanto o agradável quanto o desagradável, para que nem o júbilo nem a dor governem a mente.”
