पराशर उवाच धर्म एव कृत: श्रेयानिह लोके परत्र च । तस्माद्धि परम नास्ति यथा प्राहुर्मनीषिण:
parāśara uvāca | dharma eva kṛtaḥ śreyān iha loke paratra ca | tasmād dhi parama nāsti yathā prāhur manīṣiṇaḥ ||
Parāśara disse: “Somente o dharma, quando de fato praticado, é o bem supremo—neste mundo e no além. Portanto nada lhe é superior, como declararam os sábios.”

That dharma, when genuinely practiced (not merely discussed), is the highest good and has value both for worldly well-being and for the hereafter; nothing surpasses it.
