सांख्ययोगभेदः तथा योगबलोपदेशः
Sāṃkhya–Yoga Distinction and Instruction on Yogic Strength
निवेदयामास तदा शिवायामिततेजसे । देवश्रेष्ठाय रुद्राय सौम्याय बहुरूपिणे,उस समय उन्होंने अमित तेजस्वी अनेक रूपधारी सौम्य एवं शिवस्वरूप देवेश्वर रुद्रसे इस प्रकार निवेदन किया
nivedayāmāsa tadā śivāyāmitatejase | devaśreṣṭhāya rudrāya saumyāya bahurūpiṇe ||
Disse Bhīṣma: Então ele apresentou, com humilde reverência, sua súplica a Rudra—o próprio Śiva—de esplendor incomensurável, o mais eminente entre os deuses, de aspecto brando e, contudo, capaz de assumir muitas formas.
