Adhyāya 287 — Janaka’s Inquiry on Śreyas, Abhayadāna, and Asaṅga

अनुग्रहं च मित्राणाममित्राणां च निग्रहम्‌ । संग्रह च त्रिवर्गस्थ श्रेय आहुर्मनीषिण:

anugrahaṃ ca mitrāṇām amitrāṇāṃ ca nigraham | saṃgrahaṃ ca trivargasthaṃ śreya āhur manīṣiṇaḥ ||

Nārada disse: “Conceder favor e amparo aos amigos, conter e punir os que agem como inimigos, e preservar os recursos que se situam nos três fins da vida—dharma, artha e kāma—isto, declaram os sábios, é o que verdadeiramente conduz ao bem-estar (śreyas).”
