Adhyāya 287 — Janaka’s Inquiry on Śreyas, Abhayadāna, and Asaṅga

एतस्मात् कारणाच्छेय: कलिलं प्रतिभाति मे । ब्रवीतु भगवांस्तन्मे उपसन्नोडस्म्यधीहि भो:
etasmāt kāraṇāc chreyaḥ kalilaṁ pratibhāti me | bravītu bhagavāṁs tan me upasanno 'smy adhīhi bhoḥ ||
Bhishma disse: “Por essa razão, a verdadeira natureza do que é melhor (śreyas) me parece obscurecida pela dúvida e pela confusão. Portanto, ó Bem-aventurado, por favor, transmite-me esse ensinamento. Vim a ti em busca de refúgio — instrui-me, ó venerável senhor, e faze-me compreender o caminho que conduz ao bem supremo.”
