इमा हि देवता: सर्वा ऋषयश्न परंतप । तव क्रोधान्महादेव न शान्तिमुपलेभिरे,शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले महादेव! ये सब देवता और ऋषि आपके क्रोधसे संतप्त होकर कहीं शान्ति नहीं पा रहे हैं
imā hi devatāḥ sarvā ṛṣayaś ca parantapa | tava krodhān mahādeva na śāntim upalebhire ||
Bhishma disse: “Pois todos estes deuses e os videntes, ó subjugador de inimigos—ó Mahādeva—abrasados pela tua ira, não encontraram paz. A tua cólera tornou-se um calor devorador para o mundo, deixando até os seres mais elevados inquietos até que seja aplacada.”
