Livelihood, Virtuous Association, and Ethics of Giving
उस समय इन्द्र आदि सब देवताओंने दक्ष प्रजापतिके यज्ञमें जानेके लिये परस्पर मिलकर निश्चय किया ।।
te vimānair mahātmāno jvalanārka-samaprabhaiḥ | devasyānumate ’gacchan gaṅgādvāram iti śrutiḥ ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Então os deuses de grande alma, tendo concordado entre si em ir ao sacrifício de Dakṣa Prajāpati, partiram em carros celestes radiantes, ardendo como o fogo e o sol. Com a permissão de Mahādeva, foram a Gangādvāra (Haridwar)—assim se ouve na tradição.”
भीष्म उवाच
Even divine beings act through consultation and proper authorization: collective resolve (saṅgati) and deference to higher spiritual authority (Mahadeva’s assent) frame action within dharma, especially in sacred contexts like yajña and tīrtha.
Bhishma reports a traditional account: the gods, led by Indra, decide to attend Daksha’s sacrifice and travel in brilliant vimanas; after obtaining Mahadeva’s permission, they proceed to Gangadvara (Haridwar).
