Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions
रथस्थस्य हि शक्रस्य युद्धकाले महात्मन: । ऋषिभ: स्तूयमानस्य रूपमासीत् सुदुर्दूशम्,युद्धूके समय रथपर बैठकर ऋषियोंके द्वारा अपनी स्तुति सुनते हुए महामना इन्द्रका रूप ऐसा तेजस्वी प्रतीत होता था कि उसकी ओर देखना भी अत्यन्त कठिन जान पड़ता था
rathasthasya hi śakrasya yuddhakāle mahātmanaḥ | ṛṣibhiḥ stūyamānasya rūpam āsīt sudurdṛśam ||
Bhishma disse: No tempo da batalha, Indra, de grande alma, sentado em seu carro e recebendo os hinos dos videntes, aparecia numa forma tão radiante e terrível em majestade que era extremamente difícil até mesmo voltar o olhar para ele.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the overwhelming nature of divine splendor in a dharmic context: when a righteous cosmic power is affirmed by the praise of seers, its presence becomes morally and spiritually awe-inducing—so intense that ordinary perception cannot easily endure it.
Bhishma describes Indra during battle: seated on his chariot, being hymned by rishis, Indra appears so brilliantly radiant that looking at him is extremely difficult.
