उशनसः (शुक्रस्य) चरितम् — The Account of Uśanā (Śukra): Yoga, Grievance, and Pacification
क्षपयित्वा तु तं कालं गणितं कालचोदिता: । सावशेषेण कालेन सम्भवन्ति पुन: पुन:
kṣapayitvā tu taṃ kālaṃ gaṇitaṃ kālacoditāḥ | sāvaśeṣeṇa kālena sambhavanti punaḥ punaḥ ||
Bhīṣma disse: Tendo esgotado aquele período fixo e contado—impelidos pelo próprio Tempo—eles nascem de novo, repetidas vezes, enquanto restar algum resíduo de karma a ser experimentado. Assim, mesmo após fruírem os frutos das ações no céu ou no inferno pelo prazo destinado, os seres retornam à existência mundana até que o saldo kármico remanescente se consuma.
