परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
यद्यागच्छन्ति संसारं पु$नर्योनिषु तादृशा: । न लिप्यन्ते पापकृत्यै:ः कदाचित् कर्मयोनित:
yady āgacchanti saṃsāraṃ punar yoniṣu tādṛśāḥ | na lipyante pāpakṛtyaiḥ kadācit karmayonitaḥ ||
Mesmo que tais pessoas de alma pura retornem à existência mundana e nasçam em ventres onde a ação e a obrigação operam, jamais são manchadas por atos pecaminosos apenas por essa condição encarnada. Sua pureza interior e seu conhecimento as mantêm desapegadas; assim, as faltas do campo da ação não se lhes prendem.
