Daily eating is not mere pleasure but a dharmic act sustaining life; śruti frames grain and livestock as constituents of yajña, implying that livelihood and consumption should be regulated, offered, and aligned with sacred duty.
Kapila continues instructing on dharma and the sacrificial order, grounding ethical life in śruti: regular food intake is prescribed, and the material bases of sacrifice—animals and grain—are identified as yajña’s essential supports.
