एवं विमृशतस्तस्य चिरकारितया बहु । दीर्घ:कालो व्यतिक्रान्तस्ततो<5स्याभ्यागमत् पिता,विलम्ब करनेका स्वभाव होनेके कारण चिरकारी इस प्रकार सोचता-विचारता रहा। इसी सोच-विचारमें बहुत अधिक समय व्यतीत हो गया। इतनेमें ही उसके पिता वनसे लौट आये
evaṁ vimṛśatas tasya cirakāritayā bahu | dīrghaḥ kālo vyatikrāntas tato 'syābhyāgamat pitā ||
Bhishma disse: “Enquanto ele continuava a refletir desse modo, por seu hábito de adiar a ação, passou-se muito tempo. Nesse ínterim, seu pai retornou da floresta.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights how excessive delay—even when framed as careful deliberation—can allow circumstances to change and force a moral decision into a new context; discernment must be balanced with timely action.
Cirakari continues thinking for a long time due to his delaying nature, and during this interval his father returns, shifting the situation and setting up the next ethical development in the episode.
