Kapila–Syūmaraśmi Saṃvāda
उपपन्त्याभिसम्पन्नान् नित्यं सद्धिर्निषिवितान्,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! इस प्रकार हिंसारहित, युक्तिसंगत तथा श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंद्वारा सेवित धर्मोकी ही तुलाधार वैश्यने सदा प्रशंसा की थी
upapantyābhisampannān nityaṁ saddhir niṣevitān | bhīṣma uvāca—yudhiṣṭhira! evaṁ hiṁsārahitaṁ yuktisaṅgataṁ ca śreṣṭha-puruṣaiḥ niṣevitaṁ dharmam eva tulādhāra-vaiśyaḥ sadā praśaśaṁsa |
Bhīṣma disse: “Yudhishthira, assim o vaiśya chamado Tulādhāra sempre louvou apenas esse dharma—livre de violência, firmado em boa razão, e continuamente praticado e sustentado pelos bons e nobres.”
भीष्म उवाच
True dharma is characterized by non-violence, rational coherence, and endorsement through the lived practice of virtuous and noble people; such dharma deserves continual praise.
Bhishma, instructing Yudhishthira in the Shanti Parva, cites the perspective of the merchant-sage Tuladhara, emphasizing the kind of dharma Tuladhara consistently commended.
