कपिलगोसंवादे गृहस्थ-त्यागधर्मयोः प्रमाण्यविचारः
Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
यदा न स चलत्येव स्थाणुभूतो महातपा: । ततस्तौ सुखविश्व॒स्तौ सुखं तत्रोषतुस्तदा,जब वे महातपस्वी ढूँठे काठके समान होकर जरा भी हिले-डुले नहीं, तब अच्छी तरह विश्वास जम जानेके कारण वे दोनों पक्षी वहाँ बड़े सुखसे रहने लगे
bhīṣma uvāca | yadā na sa calatyeva sthāṇubhūto mahātapāḥ | tatastau sukhaviśvastau sukhaṃ tatroṣatustadā ||
Bhishma disse: Quando aquele grande asceta permaneceu completamente imóvel, como se tivesse se tornado um toco de árvore, então as duas aves, tendo adquirido plena confiança e sentindo-se seguras, ficaram ali e viveram felizes naquele mesmo lugar.
भीष्म उवाच
Steady self-restraint and non-threatening conduct (even expressed as complete stillness) can create safety and trust; dharma is shown not only by words but by a presence that removes fear from others.
A great ascetic remains perfectly motionless like a stump; seeing that he will not harm them, two birds become fully reassured and settle there, living comfortably in that place.
