Creation and moral order are presented as grounded in Vedic śabda: the Lord/Prajāpati establishes names, forms, and the rules governing action in conformity with the Veda, implying that dharma aligns with an objective cosmic structure rather than personal preference.
Vyāsa explains a cosmological principle within Śānti Parva’s instruction: at the beginning of the world, the creator (Prajāpati/Īśvara) organizes beings—assigning names, forms, and karmic ordinances—by following the Veda’s stated order of creation.
