Transliteration

idam adya kariṣyāmi śvaḥ kartāsmīti vādinam

Translation

Disse Bhīṣma: Não se deve confiar naquele que vive a declarar: “Hoje farei isto; amanhã farei”, pois tal fala adia o dever e enfraquece a determinação. A lição ética é agir com firmeza e no tempo devido, em vez de se esconder atrás de promessas repetidas de ação futura.
